What makes a good word game?

The best word games reward pattern recognition, not just vocabulary. Scramble tests how well you've internalized letter-frequency math. Connections is about noticing when three words LOOK obvious but one is actually a trap.

Every Puzzle Cottage word game is designed around a specific cognitive skill. Playing them regularly builds those skills. Playing all five daily over a month is a more varied mental workout than doing the same crossword every day.

No sign-up, no paywall — actually

Your streak, scores, and progress are saved in your browser via localStorage. Nothing syncs to a server. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to pay for, nothing to uninstall. If you clear your cookies, your streak resets. That's the only catch.
