Why printable puzzles still matter
Plenty of people prefer paper. A printed Sudoku doesn’t notify you, doesn’t buzz, doesn’t lose your place when the screen times out. For seniors, paper is often more comfortable. For classrooms, it’s easier to distribute. For travel, it works without WiFi. For nursing homes and care facilities, residents and staff don’t need to manage device accounts.
If you prefer digital, our free daily Sudoku, Anagram Race, and 9 other daily brain games are all free and require no sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
Are these printables really free?
Yes. Free to print, free to save as PDF, free to use in classrooms or care facilities. The only branding is a small Puzzle Cottage URL footer.
How do I save these as PDF?
In your browser, press Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P on Mac), then change “Destination” to “Save as PDF.” Output is a clean PDF you can email, store, or distribute.
Can I use these in a classroom?
Yes. No licensing restrictions for non-commercial educational use. Print as many copies as you need.
Are the puzzles unique each time I view the page?
No — each puzzle page generates the same 12 puzzles every time (deterministic seeded generation). This is intentional: it lets you reference a specific puzzle by number when teaching or sharing answers.
Do you have other puzzle types?
Currently Sudoku and anagram puzzles. Word search, mini crossword, and themed puzzles are on the roadmap.
Can I print just the puzzles without answers?
In the print dialog, specify a page range. Puzzles are typically pages 1–6, answers are pages 7–12 (varies by printer settings).
Are these good for nursing homes?
Yes — the formatted layout, printed answer key, and lack of sign-up requirements make them well-suited for senior care. Free to reproduce.
What about kids’ printables?
The 4×4 kids Sudoku is gentlest. The kids’ anagram worksheets work well for ages 6–10.
